- The top 30 game franchises of 2008 have been tallied up by Wedbush Morgan.
- The entire development team at Blue Omega, developers of Damnation, have been laid off. This could be directly related to the fact that I have never heard of Damnation. (ed 2 note: it was a really mediocre FPS)
- Red Faction Guerrilla is getting 3 DLC packs, the first of which is titled "Badlands" and will be released in August for $10/800msp.
- Kotaku has a preview of My Sims Agents.
- NBA 2K10 is getting a hugeass "limited edition" that comes in a giant locker that can hold 20 gmaes.
- Konami's Vandal Hearts, the upcoming downloadable strategy RPG sequel, seems to have slipped from its September release date to a "Winter 2009" release.
- Acclaim is giving their MMO SpellBorn a complete redevelopment.

PC and mobile news
- The Issue 15 update is out for City of Heroes. It's primarily a cosmetic update but also updates the mission creator. Wait for the upcoming expansion in a couple months for a real update.
- The team behind Painkiller: Overdose is working on another game on the engine titled Dreamkiller. Expect shooting waves and waves of enemies and smiling the entire time.
- Battlefield Heroes has two Michael Jackson themed outfits available now for free.
- The vile tasting Mana Potions is doing a cross promotion with the MMO Lunia.
Nintendo news
- Sega talks about how much they like mature rated games on the Wii.
- Engadget has a hands on with MotionPlus and the current games available for it.
- Renegade Kid, the guys behind Dementium and Moon, is working on a DS platformer titled Maximillian and the Rise of the Mutant Mudds.
Sony news
- According to some kind of Taiwanese hardware site, Sony has signed contracts with two hardware manufacturers to produce the PS3 slim for delivery within the next month.
- The PlaystationNetwork was down for most of the day today for maintenance.
Microsoft news
- Last.fm will be free to Live Gold members, whereas Silver members can only use it for 3 hours per month.
- Oh good, a direct sequel to Gears of War 2 has come out as a trashy paperback novel. Barf.
